Brighton’s Pervis Estupiñán Keen on Manchester United Move, Instructs Agents to Secure Transfer**
Brighton defender Pervis Estupiñán is eager to join Manchester United this summer and has instructed his representatives to begin negotiating his departure from the Seagulls, according to journalist Sebastien Vidal.
Following a disastrous 2024/25 campaign that saw Manchester United finish 15th in the Premier League and suffer a defeat in the Europa League final, leaving them without European football for next season, the club is actively working to strengthen the squad.
While Rúben Amorim has focused primarily on reinforcing the attack—bringing in Matheus Cunha and targeting Bryan Mbeumo—a new defensive option has now entered the picture.
Estupiñán Eyes Old Trafford Switch
Although Manchester United already added Patrick Dorgu from Lecce in January to improve their wing-back options, there is still speculation that the club may look to further bolster that area.
Now, Ecuadorian international Estupiñán, who is regarded as a “phenomenal” talent, has reportedly made it clear he wants to join United this summer and has told his agents to pursue the move, according to Vidal.
Despite his enthusiasm and United’s awareness of his quality, reports suggest the 27-year-old is not currently seen as a priority target—making a transfer this summer somewhat unlikely.
United have already agreed a deal for highly rated Paraguayan left wing-back Diego Leon, who is expected to initially join the academy setup.
The Red Devils also have Luke Shaw, Diogo Dalot, and youngster Harry Amass available in wing-back roles, providing strong competition for Dorgu heading into the new season.
