Manchester United are poised to finalize three signings next week as part of their efforts to strengthen their youth setup during the summer transfer window.
The club has already secured their first senior signing with Matheus Cunha arriving from Wolves in a £62.5 million deal.
Meanwhile, negotiations continue over an improved offer for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo. Ruben Amorim is also seeking to add a striker to the squad, with several options being explored early in the summer.
However, the focus isn’t solely on the first team. United are also targeting promising young talent, with three deals expected to close soon.
According to Manchester World, Diego Leon will join from Cerro Porteño after an agreement was made in January.
Enzo Kana-Biyik is set to arrive from Le Havre, and Southampton’s young defender Harley Emsden-James is also set to join once his contract expires at the end of the month.
Three Signings on the Horizon
Manchester United agreed to sign teenage full-back Diego Leon last January but had to wait until he turned 18 in April to complete the transfer.
The Paraguayan underwent his medical earlier this year and is expected to be officially announced as a United player early next month.
The 18-year-old is set to sign a five-year contract, with the transfer fee initially around £3.2 million, potentially rising to £7 million with add-ons.
The club also reached a deal to sign teenage forward Enzo Kana-Biyik from Le Havre last month. The French youngster will join once his current contract expires. Announcements for both Leon and Kana-Biyik are expected soon.
Additionally, United are preparing to complete the signing of Southampton’s young centre-back Harley Emsden-James after his contract ends next week.
Valued at about £1 million in compensation with a 20% sell-on clause for Southampton, Emsden-James is considered a player with significant potential.
He will feature for United’s U18s next season and has previously represented England at the U15 level. A major factor in his move is the clear progression path from the youth ranks to the senior squad at Manchester United.
