Sir Jim Ratcliffe has wrapped up his second signing of the summer transfer window!

Manchester United are gearing up for a major squad overhaul this summer, spearheaded by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the INEOS group.

With Ruben Amorim expected to take the managerial reins, a substantial reshaping of the squad is necessary, especially to align with his preferred 3-4-3 formation — a system the current team is poorly suited for.

Following a dismal Premier League campaign that saw United finish 17th, the club is under immense pressure to bounce back.

However, they still have a shot at redemption, with the chance to win the Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur.

A victory would not only deliver silverware but also secure Champions League qualification and an important financial boost.

Despite their domestic struggles, the ownership remains fully supportive of Amorim’s vision and is set to invest in the squad.

The club reportedly has a guaranteed transfer budget of £100 million, which could increase to over £200 million depending on player sales.

Several high-profile players are expected to be put on the market, including Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, and Antony.

Sancho’s situation is particularly complex, with Chelsea reportedly unwilling to make his loan deal permanent and potentially opting to pay a penalty fee instead.

Rashford and Antony’s futures also remain uncertain, as the club seeks suitable buyers. On the incoming side, United have identified five key signings to suit Amorim’s style of play.

Wolves striker Matheus Cunha is the top target, with confidence that Amorim can manage his temperament and unlock his potential.

Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap is also being considered, with a £30 million price tag following their relegation.

Reinforcements at both wing-back positions are on the agenda, and the club is also planning changes in the goalkeeper department.

Altay Bayindir is expected to leave, with a new keeper to be brought in to challenge Andre Onana.

While United could raise further funds by selling young stars like Kobbie Mainoo or Alejandro Garnacho, the club is only willing to consider offers if they are exceptionally high.

Of the two, Garnacho is seen as more likely to depart, though the preference remains to retain both as part of the club’s long-term vision. New technical director Jason Wilcox is overseeing the transfer strategy.

INEOS are reportedly pleased with his performance so far and are not planning to appoint a director of football, giving Wilcox full control over recruitment.

In summary, Manchester United are entering one of their most pivotal rebuilds in recent memory. Backed by INEOS and guided by Wilcox, the club aims to revamp the squad to suit Amorim’s tactical philosophy, move on from underperforming players, and bring in fresh talent capable of restoring United’s status among football’s elite.
