Manchester United are exploring a surprise summer move for Al-Ahli striker Ivan Toney, according to Fichajes.
The Red Devils have reportedly identified the 29-year-old England international as a possible fix for their lack of goals and have already initiated early talks with the player’s camp.
United officials are said to be confident about securing a deal and have submitted an offer in the region of €35 million (£30 million), viewing Toney as a budget-friendly solution to bolster Ruben Amorim’s frontline.
Toney, who made the switch from Brentford to Al-Ahli last summer, is currently under contract until June 2028 and earns approximately £415,000 per week in Saudi Arabia.
With attacking reinforcements a top priority this summer, United are targeting both a new No. 10 and a centre-forward.
Matheus Cunha has already arrived from Wolves, while a deal for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo is progressing, with the player already approving the move.
In addition to pursuing fresh signings, United are looking to offload several first-team players, including Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho, to help raise funds and reshape the squad.
Though Viktor Gyokeres remains the top target for the No. 9 role, he is reportedly more interested in joining Arsenal, prompting United to consider alternatives like Toney.
Since moving to Saudi Arabia, Toney has enjoyed a standout campaign, scoring 30 goals in 44 appearances for Al-Ahli and finishing as the second-highest scorer in the Saudi Pro League behind Cristiano Ronaldo.
His excellent form earned him a recall to the England national team by Thomas Tuchel for the June international break, where he featured briefly in a 3-1 loss to Senegal.
